Subtalar Arthroscopy
The subtalar joint lies below the ankle joint. Pain from the subtalar joint is felt on the side of the heel. This joint is much less commonly involved than the ankle, but it is affected by the same problems. Subtalar arthroscopy is performed through two incisions on the side of the ankle & heel or occasionally through incisions either side of the Achilles.
It is also used to assist other major surgeries such as subtalar fusion or calcaneal fixation.
